Mission Statement
The mission of Healing Mama Trauma is to gather, synthesize and disseminate the finest wisdom in the world about Reproductive and Birth Healing for mother, baby and family, in support of nourishing healthy development.
The goal is to powerfully receive the new consciousness of beings entering this world.
Believed that reproduction and birth experiences are formative for both babies and parents, they tend to establish patterns of intimacy and sociality for life. As supported by Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology (PPN), babies are conscious in conception, pregnancy, birth and bonding. Their nervous systems and mind patterns are imprinted by these early experiences.
Committed to creating a way for babies to receive the highest level of care and attunement possible. Being with babies as they unwind the impulses in their nervous systems and express their needs requires presence and calm. Consciously conditioning children’s nervous systems and theory of mind cultivates healthy patterns of how children view themselves and the world. We strive to support mothers, caregivers, and families to be fully available and present for the extraordinary gift and opportunity to positively impact the development of a human life for the good of all life.
When women are faced with loss at any stages of the reproductive journey, they need care and support to heal and become resourced and available for life, including parenting, relationships, and work.
Healing Mama Trauma is a public-benefit educational and service organization offering information, inspiration, education and support to medical and psychology professionals, families, and all persons interested in expanding horizons of reproductive and birth psychology. Come learn and grow with us!
The term "prenatal" refers to the period of about nine months including conception and the whole of gestation, while "perinatal" refers to the very short but crucial period of hours involving labor, birth, and establishment of breastfeeding. PPN focuses on the experience of reproduction and birth from the baby’s perspective. The Psychology of Reproduction and Birth includes PPN in its theoretical consideration and practice, however, focuses on the adult’s experience of the PPN period.
Healing Mama Trauma is committed to offering:
